October 1: Wii Tournament
- The Wii Tournament was a blast! Students and a couple of
professors showed up to test their skills at Wii Bowling. A two bracket
format was employed and Nolan Toups and Nicole Zamora, after some stiff
competition, came out as the winners of their respective brackets.
After the dust settled in the championship round, Nolan Toups came out
as the winner of our tournament with a score of 187 to 136. The victor
received $20 while our runner-up received $10. Thanks again to all who
came and we hope to throw another tournament in the near future!

October 28: Chapter Meeting/Experiment Day
-
Instead of our usual chapter meeting, we had an experimentation
day in order to learn and review different reactions to show to
prospective college students in the near future. Some of the
experiments included turning pennies "silver or gold," magic writing,
and the dehydration of sucrose using sulfuric acid. Thanks to all
the members that came!

Missouri, came to give a talk on "What is Environmental

Special thanks to Chase, Samim, Derek, Kylie, and Amna for helping out!

April 2: Alcon Field Trip
-
Our club members went to Alcon Laboratories in Fort Worth,
Texas to visit one of the top eye care companies in the world.
Our guide, Dr. Schmidt, showed us the campus, how the industry
operates, an inside look into the laboratories, and given information
on career opportunities at Alcon. It was very informative and
fun! Special thanks to Dr. Schmidt who gave us an excellent tour
of Alcon, and a huge thanks to Audrey for setting up this field trip
for the club. I would also like to thank Samim, Kasun, Katie,
Rachel, and Kylie for coming on the trip!

April 17: Student Research Symposium
-
The Student Research Symposium was a big hit! Students
from various departments presented their original research to the
entire campus. Our club volunteered to help clean up after a
successful day and we all enjoyed the festivities. Many thanks to
Kylie and Samim for helping out at the event!
